Islamic Republic of America: Part 2

I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the Beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands (Rev. 20:4).

Q: Who is John identifying as the beheaded ones?

A: Christians.

Q: Who is the group noted for beheading of its enemies?

A: Hint: Probably not the Presbyterians.

In a frightening vision of the future, Ralph Stice—a former missionary in Muslim lands—sees a desperate time when Americans trade their freedom for peace and petroleum, resulting in the establishment of Sharia law in the United States. From page 20 of From 9/11 to 666:

This generation’s enthusiasm to purify “the great Satan” reached its zenith when confronted with certain stubborn followers of Jesus Christ. These brave men, women and children had refused to repeat the Islamic confession of faith while in jail. They likewise never reported to city hall to receive the required laser tattoo. The few cells of the faithful had held out through the initial persuasive speeches, and even after the administrative transition to forced conversion. They met in secret and worshiped Jesus as God in flesh and the Savior of mankind, and in the process of discovered the intimacy and power of the Early Church, a longtime goal of Western evangelicals. They also learned that only intense persecution and suffering could produce such coveted body life, a lesson that many of their overseas brethren had ascertained long ago.

An unfailing formula began to emerge as these two immovable objects collided: the thinner, hungrier and angrier the jailer was, the more likely he would make an example of the infidel family before him. These interrogations and resulting disappearances sometimes made the headlines, sometimes did not. Enough accounts of executions were leaked to keep the public terrified, much as al-Qaeda terrorists had done for the decade before the Mahdi government. The powerful images brought celebration worldwide—often-obese Americans, the men stripped of their shirts, paraded down main streets while their guards shouted “Remember Abu Ghraib!” occasionally beating the men in strategic places with their batons. Stumbling into a public square, weary and exhausted, the last of the true disciples of Christ knelt in front of stone altars, exposing their necks to the sharp swords of the police.

At times, only the men were slain, their wives and children then awarded to one of the many newly immigrated Muslim bachelors. Occasionally the whole family was beheaded in front of crowds composed primarily of new immigrants, cold-blooded killings justified by the charge of all the family members proclaiming Christ’s Lordship. Videotape shot at the scene was relayed around the globe, documenting not only a complete reversal of the world’s power structure in just one decade’s time, but a powerful new testimony to curious billions who wondered about a faith that produced serenity before the executioner’s blade and instant death. The stark contrast was more vivid than ever before: a faith that beheaded people for their beliefs compared to one that spoke about forgiveness of its enemies, calmly facing extermination.
