Islamic Republic of America: Part 3

Rarely do we get this excited over a Web site—and it wasn’t even the right one. We were actually looking for Focus on the Family’s Truth Project, a very powerful new take-back-your-culture instructional program in DVD format that we’re going to discuss here eventually. It has real potential to change the world in our time.

Instead, we found another Truth Project blog that also has real life-changing potential, for an entirely different reason. It’s subtitled “Promoting the Dissemination of the Truth about Islam,” and that it does. Do you find the notion of an Islamic America far-fetched? “It could never happen here,” you say? Well, it’s already happening in Europe.

Consider these quotations from the Truth Project blog:

Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faiths, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.
-Omar Ahmad, Co-founder of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)

I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future...But I'm not going to do anything violent to promote that. I'm going to do it through education.
-Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR Spokesperson

We must reject democracy in favor of Islam, which is the unique perfect system worked out by Allah. . .Our march has just begun and Islam will end up conquering Europe and America. . . And let no one think that we are Utopian dreamers.-Sheikh Saeed Shaaban, quoted in L'Orient le jour, Beirut, 19 October 1983

People say, "Don't lie!" But the principle is different when we serve the will of Allah. He taught Man to lie so that we can save ourselves at moments of difficulty and confuse our enemies... People say, "Don't kill!" But the Almighty Himself taught us how to kill...So shall we not kill when it is necessary for the triumph of the Faith? ... Deceit, trickery, conspiracy, cheating, stealing and killing are nothing but means.
-Muhammad Navab-Safavi, key figure in the fundamentalist movement, "Islamic Society and Government," Tehran, 1946; second edition, 1985.

But one of the things I appreciate about this site is that it doesn’t just scare us to death; it offers solutions. Here’s one: “1. Print business cards which contain a web link or two. Leave those cards in public places, such as bus stops, restaurants, malls, grocery stores, etc.” Such as:

Sample Business Card
Don't believe the whitewash of Islam.

Find the truth @____________

[List a few websites and/or book titles of your own choosing]

I like the way this fellow thinks. This is important work that needs to be done. I’m going to take him up on some of his suggestions. More about that next time.

HOTEL PORN: A dose of reality

If you’re not a traveling businessman, you may not know much about the virtual hard-core porn movie theater operating in most U.S. hotel rooms today. If you are, you probably know all too much. You may even be addicted--or know someone who is.

In response to recent complaints from some Christian organizations about hotel porn, the dark side of the blogosphere has been lit up with all kinds of bizarre postings about the dangers of religious fanaticism and an imagined threat to establish a Christian theocracy in America. My heart absolutely grieves to see how moral pollution has corrupted the minds of so many. To read these postings, you'd think they were talking about a glimpse of stocking or a plunging neckline. Hardly.

At one time, these in-room pay-per-view movies were more along the lines of “soft-porn.” No more. The Daley Report has obtained a copy of the current titles from one hotel of the thousands serviced by On Command, one of the two major hotel video providers. Let’s lay it on the line (with some editing):

The Centanni lesson

It’s fairly well known by now that Fox News staffers Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig purchased their release from captivity in Gaza with their conversion to Islam. Or, we might say, with their souls.

Not that it has raised that many eyebrows. “Yeah, tell the terrorists anything they want to hear,” seems to be the common reaction. “You don’t have to mean it.”

Oh, but there are a multitude of problems with that. Starting with the fact that whether you mean it or not isn’t the real issue. The real issue is what Islam thinks—and they think you’re now theirs.

We raise this because we believe more and more of us are going to experience this same trial as time goes on. Many millions over the centuries have. Radical Islam is on the march, and forced conversion has been one of its mainstays.

Those of us who are Bible-believing Christians need to think ahead as to how we will respond if and when. Is the Centanni strategy acceptable? This Christian doesn’t think so.

Will I go to hell if I mouth the confession of no god but Allah? That’s like asking if it’s possible to lose your salvation. For those of us who believe in eternal security, the answer is no. But renouncing Christ is unthinkable treachery, considering what He has done for us. I pray that if I stand in Steve Centanni’s place some day, I will have the presence of mind to stand firm and receive the dying grace that I believe God gives to His martyrs.

Revelation chapter 20, as we’ve mentioned before, describes multitudes before the throne in heaven who were martyred by beheading. This, we believe, is a picture of all of Islam’s victims. In the end, God will exact a terrible punishment upon these demonic perpetrators, Scripture tells us.

But even for a non-believer, the stakes are too high. Henceforth, Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig, whether they know it or not, are marked men. They would be ill advised ever to set foot in the Middle East again. They had better live now as Muslims or know that they will be regarded as apostates—which is a capital offense in the eyes of Islam.

Infidels are somewhat tolerated, because they still are potential converts. Apostates—those who convert but then turn away—are dead men walking. He who has ears to hear, let him hear...

Dr. Horsepuckey

What Michelle Malkin likes to call the Distributed Intelligence Network—a.k.a. the right side of the blogosphere—ought to have a field day with this:

An economics professor at Drake University (Des Moines) has published a scathing article, “Behind the Plan to Bomb Iran,” which purports to reveal the real reason behind the U.S.-Iran War. OK, so it hasn’t happened—yet. Picky, picky. You know it will. So there.

And no, it has nothing to do with any of that rascal George Bush’s lies about wanting to protect Americans from terror attacks or to promote democracy in the Middle East. Nah. None of that stuff. You ready for the real reason?

Money. Yep. Halliburton. Lockheed-Martin. Neo-fascist think tanks like the American Enterprise Institute. And, oh yes—the military-industrial-Zionist complex. You know, the defense industry and the Jews.

This remarkable, if not entirely original, piece of, uh, thinking was written by Dr. Ismael Hossein-Zadeh, or Dr. Horsepuckey for short. Of course, being a professor of economics and all, you’d expect him to have sources—you know, footnotes and things like that. Well, he does. Ten of them. Well, technically three, with a lot of ibids:

1. That great investigative reporter Seymour Hersh, who wrote the wildly hilarious "The military's problem with the President's Iran policy," published recently by The New Yorker. The only thing is, since Hersh performed this feat with virtually no named sources, we still can’t tell whether there really are plans to attack Iran—let alone whether the brass really do want to oust Bush and install a military junta.

2. William D. Hartung, an anti-war wonk and critic of Israel who published the 2003 classic, How Much Are You Making on the War, Daddy? (We think Reese Witherspoon starred in the movie version.) Surprise: Hartung agrees with Dr. Horsepuckey. On lots of stuff.

3. Dr. Horsepuckey himself. As he says in Footnote Ten: “I have provided a longer discussion of the role of the Zionist lobby in the configuration of the U.S. policy in the Middle East in Chapter 6 of my recently published book, The Political Economy of U.S. Militarism (Palgrave-Macmillan 2006).” (Which we suspect he doesn’t consider a good thing.)

So, there you have it. The academic Left in all its glory. Anti-semitism and all. Does it raise as many questions for you as it does for us? For starters, what the h*** is a guy like this doing, poisoning the minds of our young people at a place of higher learning?

Come on, Distributed Intelligence Network. Go run with it.

Mojo’s martyr complex

This explains a lot...

It might look almost as if Iranian Wackjob Mahmoud “Mojo” Ahmadinejad is trying to get Israel or the United States to attack his country because, well, he is. In this brand of radical Islam reportedly runs a deep vein of almost suicidal martyrdom tendencies.

That might not make a lot sense to civilized folks. But Richard Poole, in that Regime Change Iran post we referenced last time, sheds this significant light on it:

An attack launched by Israel or the US that would kill tens or hundreds of thousands of Iranians would only serve to confirm the self-fulfilling prophecy of Shiite martyrdom and vindicate Ahmadinejad’s suicidal policies. In his mind, an apocalyptic act of self-initiated martyrdom unparalleled in Islamic history would undoubtedly serve to jump start the arrival of the Mahdi. In his religious calculus, the use of nuclear weapons is a win-win scenario. Such actions are not only entirely appropriate, but divinely sanctioned and wholly justified by the messianic and apocalyptic elements that Ahmadinejad and his ideological allies have attached to the Shiite martyrdom mythology.

Again, the Mahdi is the Islamic Messiah figure who mirrors our Antichrst figure disturbingly well. According to popular belief, this 12th Imam exists in a sort of state of suspended animation at the bottom of a well in the town of Jamkaran, outside Qom, just waiting for the final conflict with the infidels to make his appearance.

Accordingly, Mojo considers it his duty and destiny to provoke that final confrontation, even if it means bringing disaster upon his own people. Another fact not getting a lot of press is the extent of turmoil, dissatisfaction, opposition and strikes within Iranian society. Poole sees reason for hope:

"Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stands at the fringe of Iranian politics (which should illustrate how relative a term as “fringe” can actually be). Most hard-line clerics do not share his vision and he is opposed by some of the leading politicians in Iran, like former President Rafsanjani. Our response should exploit those divisions. But that can only be done if we are relentless in constantly checking every move that Ahmadinejad makes. He cannot be allowed even the slightest victory. Allowing him any breathing room or agreeing to any concessions is fraught with extreme peril. A persistent escalation of hostilities between Iran and the US may force the hard line clerics to deal with Ahmadinejad on their own out of sheer self-preservation."

Devotees drop prayer requests into the well at Jamkaran to the Madhi. Maybe we should drop something in as well. Like one well-placed bunker buster. No more Mr. Mahdi. Think that might change the equation just a bit?

Anybody got a number for Don Rumsfeld?

ROSCOE’S Weak-End Review

We wuz right

One part of the recent Mike Wallace 60 Minutes interview with Iranian Wackjob Mahmoud “Mojo” Ahmadinejad that hasn’t gotten much attention was its tacit confirmation of the story we broke here in May about the real nature of Mojo’s notorious 18-page rambling letter to President Bush.

Regime Change Iran has posted a Richard Poole article (originally appearing in FrontPageMagazine.com), which reports:

Another part of his divine mission is confronting infidel world leaders and inviting them to accept Islam – a necessary step in Islamic warfare before attacking an opponent. In May, Ahmadinejad sent President Bush an 18-page letter calling for a change in the Bush Administration’s foreign polices and challenging him to embrace Islam. A similar letter was sent to German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Robert Spencer of JihadWatch [and Roscoe Daley, both on 5/9/06] immediately recognized Ahmadinejad’s letter as a call to accept Islam – an opinion that Ahmadinejad later confirmed – that contextualized his respective letters as a pretext for future military confrontation and escalation.

Referring to his letter in his 60 Minutes interview, Ahmadinejad made it clear that rejection of his personal invitation to Islam would invite personal destruction for President Bush:

Please give him this message, sir. Those who refuse to accept an invitation to good will not have a good ending or fate.

So, in this twisted reasoning, President Bush has condemned himself by rejecting Allah (pbj) and his prophet (blt). “Hey,” Mojo is essentially saying, “don’t say we didn’t warn you if more heads start to roll.” Literally.

Holocaust yuks

Speaking of twisted, the Holocaust cartoon contest in Tehran also hasn’t received much attention from our mainstream mediocracy. Maybe these editors have at least some shame: Having danced all around the Muhammad cartoon issue with all sorts of semantic gymnastics to explain away their pusillanimous dhimmi cop-outs, the last thing they’re going to do is throw gasoline on the fire by publicizing the Muslim anti-Semitic response.

But, of course, we have no such moral conflict at the Report. We posted one of the Muhammad cartoons at the time. So, here’s one of the clever Muslim cartoons:

Meanwhile, according to GOP Vixen, six American cartoonists covered themselves with glory by participating in this Holocaust yuk-fest. Gee, we wonder of what political persuasion these artists might be. Here’s one of them, from an American named Mike Fluggenock:

Guess they’re not all Holocaust-related. Anything anti-Israel or anti-Semitic apparently will do. Personally, we lean more toward the work of Yaakov Kirschen at the DryBonesBlog. (Yeah, he’s an Israeli.) So, we’ll end on a more positive note with this one from Yaakov:

What America smells like when it's going bad

Some say a fish rots from the head. So, where do you suppose a country rots from? In our case, apparently the left.

To wit, these comments from some fellow Americans on the kidnapping of Fox journalist Steve Centanni and cameraman Olaf Wiig in Gaza:

From the Huffington Post:

They faked their own kidnapping.
--rigotrash on August 18, 2006 at 05:14pm

Who gives a f*** about these Fox Journalists! Let Fox's precious Israel go get them out.
--TakeBackTheLeft on August 18, 2006 at 5:40pm

Actually, he's from Fox so he's not a journalist. … I'm sure he's getting a "Fair and Balanced" trial.
--BushBites on August 18, 2006 at 06:34pm

From Democratic Underground:

Of all the luck. Not Geraldo or Hannity, not Gibson or O'Reilly not even Greta Van Susteren. A couple of expendable nobodies that FOX can replace in a heartbeat. There's no joy in this, only disappointment.
--Sentinel Chicken

I'm wishing it was Hannity and O'Reilly, kidnapped in Baghdad. Now THAT would be irony. Not that they'd have the cojones to actually go and show us how great everything's going over there.
--smoogatz

Would not Hamas be entirely justified in regarding FOX employees as "enemy combatants," using the same pathetic, arbitrary criteria we used to send people to Gitmo?
--Coalition unwilling

Are they really "HUMANS"?I don't find it amusing... I think it's poetic justice. They make a living off of the blood and misery of the Palestinians and Iraqis and whoever else the Liar-in-Chief and his jackbooted neo-con buddies tell them to propagandize against. Let them see what it feels like. As for their families...I'm sure Goebbels had family too. They'll get over it.
--Tight rope

They've been complicit in Bush's crimes against humanity. The people in front of the cameras at Fox are every bit as complicit as the people behind the barrels of the guns. The pen is mightier than the sword... and equally complicit in the ongoing global Genocide. These Nazi Information Officers get absolutely ZERO sympathy from me.Boo f***ing hoo. They kidnapped Faux TV employees. It's their war. I hope they enjoy reaping its fruits. If anyone deserves to pay the price, then it's those bastards. I wish that no journalist would ever be kidnapped, tortured, and fed their own, quivering t***icles on a plate ... but if it has to happen to somebody, then I will cheer and shout that it be someone from Faux "News."

Some people say those "journalists" staged their own abduction so they spend time having sex with child prostitutes. Did Rush Limbaugh arrange a child sex tourism junket for Fox TV journalists? That's what folks are saying.
--IanDBI

Does that strike you the same way it strikes me? Neo-liberalism cum mental disorder.

OK, in fairness, there were some neo-libs—a very distinct minority—who expressed disapproval of all of this sick glee. But there were at least as many far more extreme than what we reported—because they were “removed by moderator.”

Golly, and we didn’t even get to Daily Kos and Rude Pundit…

ASK ROSCOE: American Airlines child abusers

Dear Roscoe:

Don’t leave us hanging, man. What’s the upshot of the deal you reported about babies having their milk confiscated by over-zealous Transportation Security Nazis? Any more fallout?

--W. Wright

Dear W.:

Thanks for asking. (See “TSA child abusers,” Friday, Aug. 11.) Actually, when it comes to child abuse in air travel these days, it seems everybody wants to get in on the act. Last time, we’d suggested that the problem was confined to some errant pinhead TSA martinets. Not quite. Our Mr. A. has given us an update, and it turns out that American Airlines’ martinets are giving the TSA martinets quite a run for their money in the pinhead department.

Whereas the TSA managed to deprive eight-month-old Baby A. of food for most of a day, American Airlines managed the feat of losing some of the family’s luggage, principally the infant car seat—without which it is illegal to transport said infant by automobile. These people could use some PR training, too.

We pick up with Mr. A.’s additional account:

They confiscated all of her baby food. (I contacted TSA, FAA, and AA prior to and after the flight – each said this should not have happened.) They also tried taking her formula. After some haggling, we were able to keep 2 bottles worth of formula. (For 13 hours in the airport).

They returned the car seat on Saturday evening. I was very frustrated that they didn’t have a loaner for us or anything. When I told the agent that my only options were to stay the night at the airport or drive home illegally – she told me I certainly couldn’t stay at the airport. I asked, since she was suggesting I break the law, would AA pay for the ticket, she laughed sarcastically, and told me there was nothing to be done, and that I would have to leave. Very frustrating.

Nice. The only saving grace was that the A. family at least made it home without the traffic patrol stopping them to ask if they wanted to buy the $50 or the $100 Police Auxiliary pencil.

--Roscoe

Dear Roscoe:

Did you hear about bin Laden allegedly having the hots for Whitney Houston? Do you believe it?

--B. Brown

Dear B.:

Do you believe everything you read? Next thing, you’ll be telling us that those were real planes that flew into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. That Saddam Hussein really had weapons of mass destruction. And that there’s no worldwide Jewish conspiracy.

Hah! Some people are so gullible.

17 INCONVENIENT TRUTHS

Prior to her recent sitting in as show host for Laura Ingraham, we’d never been exposed to Tammy Bruce. Subsequently, we discovered that Tammy has posted a remarkable piece of work on her Web site that just puts a whole lot of disinformation about Israel and Jerusalem into proper perspective. While we might argue that Jerusalem is mentioned in the Quran by inference (not by name) and that David was the early conqueror of Jerusalem (not the founder), this is otherwise a reliable—and eye-opening—document.

Let’s be informed and call out the uber-liars. We’re wise to you, Mahmoud:

Israel and Jerusalem facts

1. Israel became a state in 1312 B.C., two millennia before Islam;

2. Arab refugees from Israel began calling themselves "Palestinians" in 1967, two decades after (modern) Israeli statehood;

3. After conquering the land in 1272 B.C., Jews ruled it for a thousand years and maintained a continuous presence there for 3,300 years;

4. The only Arab rule following conquest in 633 A.D. lasted just 22 years;

5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem was the Jewish capital. It was never the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even under Jordanian rule, (east) Jerusalem was not made the capital, and no Arab leader came to visit it;

6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in the Bible, but not once is it mentioned in the Qur'an;

7. King David founded Jerusalem; Mohammed never set foot in it;

8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem; Muslims face Mecca. If they are between the two cities, Muslims pray facing Mecca, with their backs to Jerusalem;

9. In 1948, Arab leaders urged their people to leave, promising to cleanse the land of Jewish presence. 68% of them fled without ever setting eyes on an Israeli soldier;

10. Virtually the entire Jewish population of Muslim countries had to flee as the result of violence and pogroms;

11. Some 630,000 Arabs left Israel in 1948, while close to a million Jews were forced to leave the Muslim countries;

12. In spite of the vast territories at their disposal, Arab refugees were deliberately prevented from assimilating into their host countries. Of 100 million refugees following World War II, they are the only group to have never integrated with their co-religionists. Most of the Jewish refugees from Europe and Arab lands were settled in Israel, a country no larger than New Jersey;

13. There are 22 Muslim countries, not counting Palestine. There is only one Jewish state. Arabs started all five wars against Israel, and lost every one of them;

14. Fatah and Hamas constitutions still call for the destruction of Israel. Israel ceded most of the West Bank and all of Gaza to the Palestinian authority, and even provided it with arms;

15. During the Jordanian occupation, Jewish holy sites were vandalized and were off limits to Jews. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian holy sites are accessible to all faiths;

16. Out of 175 United Nations Security Council resolutions up to 1990, 97 were against Israel; out of 690 general assembly resolutions, 429 were against Israel;

17. The U.N. was silent when the Jordanians destroyed 58 synagogues in the Old City of Jerusalem. It remained silent while Jordan systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives, and it remained silent when Jordan enforced apartheid laws preventing Jews from accessing the Temple Mount and Western Wall.

World Trade Center: The movie

As much as we appreciated United 93, we could also relate to the criticism of one man, who said he was left just feeling empty. Pretty hard to avoid, when the finale is a plane crash. Period.

You don’t have that excuse with World Trade Center, which begins with a plane crash and climaxes in a triumph of the human spirit. May I extend the metaphor? Since there’s no way to spoil the story by giving away the plot, we’d like to suggest that Will and John’s fight to maintain consciousness despite their injuries while trapped in the rubble is symbolic of a challenge all Americans face: Maintaining the vigilance and determination to defeat our enemy.

I understand the disconnect. When 9/11 occurred, I was a struggling freelance writer scratching for work. Somehow the TV news photos of the planes and the twin towers just wouldn’t become real for me. I knew intellectually they were real, but a part of me felt as if I were watching some Hollywood special effects.

So, I invested in a good camera, drove to New York City and visited Ground Zero. I interviewed numbers of relief workers and Christian ministry workers and did days and days of photojournalism. Neither the pictures nor the interviews, to this day, have been published. But at least I’d connected the dots for myself.

Unfortunately, there are too many others who don’t want those dots connected. For if they were, it would be harder for them to retreat to slogans (“Bush lied, people died”) and outright denial (“9/11 was a CIA hoax to start a war”). They’d have to deal with the reality that radical Islam declared war on us a long time ago, whether we like it or not. And either we take the fight to them in a decisive way, or we wait for them to come get us while we cover our ears and sing, “La-la-la-la. I can’t hear you!”

World Trade Center is a great antidote to that creeping unreality in our culture, which has all but forgotten we’re a nation at war. It will help connect the dots for anyone who didn’t have the opportunity to witness Ground Zero for themselves.

It won’t leave you empty. It’s an uplifting story about the triumph of the human spirit. And the need for vigilance and determination.

See it.

ROSCOE’S Weak-End Review

Snakes on planes!

Geez, Louise. The airlines sure are getting touchy these days. Just ’cuz she was ranting about Pakistan and Bush and al-Qaeda, Catherine Mayo, 59, gets manhandled by United Airlines. They divert the trans-Atlantic flight from the UK to Boston and search Mayo’s bag. So, what do they find? Nothing but a lousy screwdriver and matches and a few cigarette lighters.

So, what? Maybe she was afraid of an onboard power failure and was prepared to do a repair job in the dark. Who knows? But the manhandling got Mayo so upset that she urinated on the floor of the plane. Well, heck. Wouldn’t you? I mean, Karl Rove is still alive, you know.

Before anyone gets the wrong idea that we’re making fun of the mentally ill, let us hasten to point out that Ms. Mayo is probably not much nuttier than other garden-variety lefty moonbats. She’s actually a journalist—granted, a very anti-Bush, anti-American, anti-military journalist. But then, when it comes to our mainstream mediocracy, what's remarkable about that?

For a small sampling of her writings, check out Opinion Journal. It will tell you all you need to know.

Frogs on the march?

Remember all that fuss that the French were making about having a cease-fire in Lebanon on their terms? Which is to say, whatever was not U.S. terms. The peacekeeping force would have to be nonviolent—i.e., could use force only in self-defense, couldn’t disarm Hezbollah, etc. And it would have to be led by some credible power other than the United States. Like, oh, say—France.

Somehow the world community let them get away with it. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be any cease-fire agreement. (Which, as we’ve stated before, would suit us just fine.) So, OK, knock yourself out.

But, what’s this? Seems that now that they’ve gotten their way and thwarted the Yanks, the frogs are losing interest. Maybe they won’t even send those thousands of combat troops, after all. Maybe just a couple hundred technical advisers.

We would hardly blame you if you found that hard to believe. So, here’s a piece from the Washington Post and The Times of London to prove we’re not making this up. The Times piece is titled “Marche en arrière,” which means pretty much how it sounds—i.e., advance to the rear.

Speaking of moonbats

Trick question: Know what you get when you google “French military victories” on “I feel lucky”? Here’s what you get:

Thanks to the Outer Limits blog for this discovery.

Another trick question: Know what you get when you google the expletive “***hole” on “I feel lucky”? (You have to spell it out without the modesty-asterisks.) We’ll let you discover this incredible one on your own.

It’s not nearly as funny as the first one. Unless you’re Catherine Mayo. Or French.

ISRAEL: Dangerous dilemma

The most dangerous thing about this Hezbollahstan-Israel cease-fire? The fact that it has emboldened Israel’s enemies for the next time. You’ve heard the crowing from Damascus and Tehran. Israel’s really just a paper tiger, U.S. interests have been defeated, etc.

Always before, there’s been a huge price tag associated with attacks on Israel. Far from dealing Israel a setback, the attacker generally lost a hefty chunk of his own territory to the Jewish nation. Instead of being downsized, Israel expanded—the Old City, Temple Mount, Gaza, the Golan Heights. That knowledge, we submit, has been the only thing remotely keeping the peace in the past 20 years.

Now, that’s all gone, replaced with a new bravado and a belief that Israel can indeed be wiped off the map—and with evil characters such as Mahmoud “Mojo” Ahmadinejad more than willing to do the job. This may be enough in and of itself to set the stage for the Ezekiel 38 invasion of “Gog,” along with the other enemies of Israel enumerated in Psalm 83. (See previous posts.)

Perhaps it’s inevitable. But if Israel is smart, she’ll repudiate the cease-fire in the face of continuing attacks from Hezbollah and finish the job. Why should Israel be the only one required to obey the cease-fire? And if we’re smart, we’ll support Israel aggressively in the disarming of Hezbollah.

Anything less than a defeated, disarmed, discredited Hezbollah is a danger to the entire region and, ultimately, to the world.

STOP Muslim madness

As we were saying, this just ain’t normal.

It’s getting slim-to-none coverage in our mainstream mediocracy, but there’s a very, uh, progressive Muslim couple named Abdula and Cossor who were rounded up in last week’s UK bust of 23 would-be airline bombers. Take a good look at them. They certainly appear human, more or less. Looks certainly can be deceiving.

Turns out Abdula and Cossor were planning to bring down their target airliner with liquid explosives in the infant formula of their 6-month-old baby, Zain. Here’s an Aussie story on this abomination.

Gives a whole new meaning to the expression, “It’s not a baby; it’s a choice.”

Folks, we need to fight this thing tooth and nail. Noting less than civilization itself is at stake. This kind of cancer depends on our apathy and indifference in order to metastasize. We need to bite the ol’ bullet and start slicing. Do we have the stomach for it? We’d better have.

First place to start?

We would mount a massive public information campaign exposing Islam as a demonic sham. Contrary to the hype, Allah is not Jehovah by another name. He is the old Babylonian moon god, al-Ilah, minus his daughters and other astrological hosts, with a new coat of paint to make this perverted system appear monotheistic.

As Paul warned, “No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons” (1 Cor. 10:20).

That, friends, is the sad explanation for Abdula and Cossor and the legions of other despicable fanatics, for whom “Islamo-fascist” is way too kind a term. In truth, they are “participants with demons.” And that, we submit, is the real explanation for all this Muslim madness.

Radical Islam = mental disorder?

Just to show that their Muslims can be as dead-bang nuts as our Muslims, get a load of this item from the UK:

YOUNG Welsh Muslims have accused the Government of master-minding this week's plot to blow up transatlantic jets mid-air to justify Tony Blair's war on terror.

Some followers of Islam have claimed the arrest of more than 20 people on suspicion of scheming to kill thousands of passengers traveling to America using liquid explosives is designed to bolster the Prime Minister's flagging credibility over the Iraq and Lebanon-Israel crises.

Sound familiar? Just substitute the name “Bush” for “Blair,” and it’s pretty much interchangeable psychoses. Bush Derangement Syndrome looks pretty much the same as Blair Delusional Disorder. And by the looks of some of the lefty blogs, there’s no lack of non-Muslims who’ve been catching the bug, too.

One of these days we’re going to put together a list of all the delusional Islamniac beliefs we can collect just for their entertainment value. And then maybe we can find somebody in the American Psychological Association to get this whole fever swamp thing declared an official mental disorder. Problem is, we think many of them have caught the bug, too.

ISRAEL’S ENEMIES: Anger, envy, hatred

While Israel’s enemies crow about battling the Jewish nation to a negotiated standstill in Hezbollahstan—a.k.a. Lebanon—we’ll see who has the last laugh.

Today we revisit the remarkable prophecy in Psalm 83, as well as a word from the prophet Ezekiel. From The Middle East Conflict by Stephen P. Adams, Alpha Books, 2003 (with permission):

Israel continues to be surrounded by enemies. Scripture also indicates dire consequences for Israel’s enemies. God identifies them by name in a remarkable passage: “They devise crafty schemes against your people, laying plans against your precious ones. ‘Come,’ they say, ‘let us wipe out Israel as a nation. We will destroy the very memory of its existence.’ This was their unanimous decision. They signed a treaty as allies against you—these Edomites and Ishmaelites, Moabites and Hagrites, Gebalites, Ammonites, and Amalekites, and people from Philistia and Tyre. Assyria has joined them, too, and is allied with the descendants of Lot.” (Psalm 83:3-8, NLT)

These are Arab peoples associated with specific places in the land of Israel and its immediate neighbors—Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. Today they would be called Palestinians. It shows how ancient are the hatreds. The Edomites, for example, descendants of Jacob’s brother Esau, provoked God’s anger by refusing to allow the Israelites to pass through their land (southeast of the Dead Sea in modern Jordan) on their way to Canaan.

More than 3,000 years later, re-gathered Israel encountered the same sort of hostilities from descendants of these same peoples and was compelled to fight a war for independence—not from a colonial power, but from its neighbors. The ancient hatreds continue to this day in the ongoing hostilities of terrorism and Intifada.

A Word from the Prophet

The prophet Ezekiel foresaw a future time when the ruined cities of Israel would be re-inhabited by the Jews and the desolate land would become fruitful again. He also declared God’s wrath against the Edomites and others for their violence against Israel, promising great punishment. “Your continual hatred for the people of Israel led you to butcher them when they were helpless, when I had already punished them for their sins. … For you said, ‘The lands of Israel and Judah will be ours. We will take possession of them. …’ I will punish you for your acts of anger, envy, and hatred. … My jealous anger is on fire against these nations, especially Edom, because they have shown their utter contempt for me by gleefully taking my land for themselves as plunder.” (Ezekiel 35:5, 10-11, 36:5, NLT)

In turn, the prophet warned, these people would be dealt with in the same fashion. God promised them “a bloodbath of your own.” (Ezekiel 35:6) This may refer to a slaughter that is yet to come or possibly even to the recent bloodshed in ongoing Arab-Israeli hostilities.

If we had to guess, we'd bet on God having the last laugh.

UNFIT in Lebanon

Hezbollah wins!

One can’t help but wonder how things would have turned out if Ariel Sharon were still at Israel’s helm. We doubt he would have supported this negotiated cease-fire—amounting to a de facto defeat at the bargaining table by Kofi Annan and the French. Think about it:

o Hezbollah achieves virtual statehood by being recognized internationally, in effect, as a sovereign power.
o Israel fails to recover its kidnapped soldiers, which started the whole conflict.
o The formerly anti-Syrian, pro-Western government in Lebanon morphs into an anti-Israel, anti-U.S. force.
o Until United Nations forces can be mustered and deployed, Israeli forces are stuck in southern Lebanon.
o Hezbollah warns that a cease-fire is not an unconditional guarantee that its shooting will stop.
o The cease-fire will be enforced by troops from France, Italy and Turkey, who may only shoot in self-defense and with no mandate to disarm Hezbollah.

We also can’t help but wonder: The previous UN deployment was known as UNIFIL—United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. Considering the well-known fighting prowess of France, Italy and Turkey, should this new one be called UNFIT? That’s probably what Sharon would have called it.

ASK ROSCOE: TSA child abusers

Dear Roscoe:

What’s up with crying babies on airplanes all of a sudden? I just flew American Airlines from Colorado Springs to Cleveland via Dallas—and it was five hours of auditory hell. Some friends on a couple of other flights reported the same thing. Babies crying for hours on end. Before my flight was over, I wanted to slap the mother. What’s the matter with these parents? Don’t they feed their children?

--E. Herzog

Dear E.:

Glad you asked. We did some investigating, and here’s the scoop:

It all has to do with the attempted terrorist attack on airlines that was busted on Thursday in England. As a result, the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) adopted new restrictions for airline passengers—principally, banning liquids and gels from carry-on bags. Some sensible exceptions were allegedly made. We quote here from the TSA’s FAQs on its own Web site http://www.tsa.gov/:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Will there be any exceptions to the banned liquids?

The following items are permitted to be carried aboard the aircraft:

· Passengers traveling with infants may bring baby formula.
· Prescription medicine that matches the passenger’s name.
· Essential non-prescription medicines such as insulin are permitted.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately, there’s one little problem: They lied.

We have documented one case in which infant formula was confiscated at the TSA security checkpoint from a couple with an eight-month-old baby. The dad—whom we’ll call Mr. A.—was understandably upset. Mr. A. told us what really ticked him off was the lengths he had gone to comply with the rules.

After finding the alleged exception for infant formula on the TSA and FAA Web sites, Mr. A. called American Airlines to confirm it—which they did. At check-in, he double-checked that infant formula was OK. They said it was. So, imagine their surprise when the TSA security worker seized their baby’s food, almost out of her mouth. It was all Mr. A. could do to control himself and avoid arrest.

At the gate, Mr. A asked the airline rep why his baby’s formula had been confiscated. It must have been a mistake by the TSA worker, he was told. So, could he get it back? Well, no.

So, there you have it, E. These parents are not abusing their children. The TSA is.

Our advice: If you know someone planning to travel with a baby, tell them to be sure to get the TSA worker’s name and inform him that they will be filing charges of child abuse against him. What else would you call depriving a baby of food for five hours?

It might, of course, get the parent threatened with arrest. But I think that’s a chance most parents would take when the welfare of their child is at stake. I certainly would.

Islamic Republic of America: Part 2

I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the Beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands (Rev. 20:4).

Q: Who is John identifying as the beheaded ones?

A: Christians.

Q: Who is the group noted for beheading of its enemies?

A: Hint: Probably not the Presbyterians.

In a frightening vision of the future, Ralph Stice—a former missionary in Muslim lands—sees a desperate time when Americans trade their freedom for peace and petroleum, resulting in the establishment of Sharia law in the United States. From page 20 of From 9/11 to 666:

This generation’s enthusiasm to purify “the great Satan” reached its zenith when confronted with certain stubborn followers of Jesus Christ. These brave men, women and children had refused to repeat the Islamic confession of faith while in jail. They likewise never reported to city hall to receive the required laser tattoo. The few cells of the faithful had held out through the initial persuasive speeches, and even after the administrative transition to forced conversion. They met in secret and worshiped Jesus as God in flesh and the Savior of mankind, and in the process of discovered the intimacy and power of the Early Church, a longtime goal of Western evangelicals. They also learned that only intense persecution and suffering could produce such coveted body life, a lesson that many of their overseas brethren had ascertained long ago.

An unfailing formula began to emerge as these two immovable objects collided: the thinner, hungrier and angrier the jailer was, the more likely he would make an example of the infidel family before him. These interrogations and resulting disappearances sometimes made the headlines, sometimes did not. Enough accounts of executions were leaked to keep the public terrified, much as al-Qaeda terrorists had done for the decade before the Mahdi government. The powerful images brought celebration worldwide—often-obese Americans, the men stripped of their shirts, paraded down main streets while their guards shouted “Remember Abu Ghraib!” occasionally beating the men in strategic places with their batons. Stumbling into a public square, weary and exhausted, the last of the true disciples of Christ knelt in front of stone altars, exposing their necks to the sharp swords of the police.

At times, only the men were slain, their wives and children then awarded to one of the many newly immigrated Muslim bachelors. Occasionally the whole family was beheaded in front of crowds composed primarily of new immigrants, cold-blooded killings justified by the charge of all the family members proclaiming Christ’s Lordship. Videotape shot at the scene was relayed around the globe, documenting not only a complete reversal of the world’s power structure in just one decade’s time, but a powerful new testimony to curious billions who wondered about a faith that produced serenity before the executioner’s blade and instant death. The stark contrast was more vivid than ever before: a faith that beheaded people for their beliefs compared to one that spoke about forgiveness of its enemies, calmly facing extermination.

Islamic Republic of America?

What is the sin that will cut America’s throat? Immorality? Abortion? Pornography? Mel Gibson?

Surely these are things that incur God’s judgment on the nation. But there is one thing in particular that may doom our way of life. According to my friend Ralph Stice, it’s greed. More specifically, it’s our abject dependence on oil from Muslim nations to fuel our standard of living that may ruin us.

In his book From 9/11 to 666, Stice foresees an eventual collapse of the biggest oil player and American ally, the House of Saud, like a house of cards. With something like 95 percent of Saudis opposed to their own government, it’s not difficult to imagine a popular uprising fomented by Islamic radicals in a virtual replay of the fall of the Shah of Iran in the 1970s. And who can forget that 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers were Saudis?

What will the United States do when Saud’s 5,000 princes are forced to flee to their villas on the Riviera and their penthouses in London and Paris and Vail? Will we sit idly by when radical Islam turns off the oil spigot until we meet their list of demands? Will we abandon Israel? Will we settle for a lower standard of living and go back to horses and bicycles? Or will we go to war?

The dilemma, however, is that by that time nuclear weapons will be in greater supply in the Middle East theater. Iran is on the verge of going nuclear, and who knows how long it will be before the nukes of Pakistan fall into the hands of radical Islam?

All of these forces are militating in the same direction—i.e., softening up the world arena for a “moderate” Islamic leader possessing the gravitas to entice the beleaguered West into a Pax Islama. Does a seven-year peace treaty with Israel ring any Revelation bells? This man will be known to the Islamic world as the 12th Imam or Mahdi. To students of Scripture, he will be the Antichrist.

Already Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is busily fomenting maximum international chaos—via Hezbollah in Lebanon—to create the conditions considered right for the appearance of the Mahdi. These conditions will eventually be so extreme that even Americans, desperate for peace and for preserving their way of life, will agree to his terms.

Unthinkable? To quote Ralph Stice, “For, it is our greed that not only will back us into a corner, but actually feed tbe monster that will eventually eat us.”

Ask Roscoe: The End Times

Dear Roscoe:

Are we entering the End Times described in the Bible? If so, how do you see events unfolding? How much time do we have left?

Gary D.

Dear Gary:

Yes, I do. And, for the record, I’ve never been an end-of-the-world fanatic. I am a recent covert to this view, because of events of the past several years, starting with 9/11.

I now believe, for a variety of reasons, that radical Islam is the evil system of the Beast of Revelation that will dominate the world in the last days. I believe that the Mahdi—the eagerly awaited imperialist Muslim Messiah—is a dead ringer for the Antichrist who will run this final world system. Once you make this connection, virtually everything else falls into place. And just the fact that we can now recognize this picture is itself a sign of the end.

Only a few more pieces are needed to complete the picture. One is the fall of the Saudi royal family—and control of the holy places of Mecca and Medina—to radical Islamic control. Another is Israel’s loss of America as its stalwart ally, in line with the Ezekiel 38 account of the Jewish nation facing Gog’s attack all alone. I believe the current hostilities are setting the stage for this horrendous battle in the next two to three years.

It’s not hard to see how this scenario comes to pass: Overcome with Iraq-fatigue, the American people elect a peace President (probably a Democrat) in 2008 who withdraws the troops from Iraq and gets us totally disengaged from the Middle East—including alliance with Israel.

That’s the same time frame articulated by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad—two to three years before the end. Except I believe it will take a few more years to set up the Mahdi’s imperialist rule. First, Europe will fall. With its birthrate in free fall and Muslim immigration reshaping virtually every nation, Eurabia is almost a reality now.

Last will come the defeat that pains me the most to consider: The fall of the United States to radical Islam. It may be inevitable. More about that next time.

Psalm 83 being fulfilled today?

PSALM 83 (New American Standard Bible)

Psa 83:1 O God, do not remain quiet; Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still.
Psa 83:2 For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, And those who hate You have exalted themselves.
Psa 83:3 They make shrewd plans against Your people, And conspire together against Your treasured ones.
Psa 83:4 They have said, "Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, That the name of Israel be remembered no more."
Psa 83:5 For they have conspired together with one mind; Against You they make a covenant:
Psa 83:6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites;
Psa 83:7 Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Psa 83:8 Assyria also has joined with them; They have become a help to the children of Lot. Selah.
Psa 83:9 Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera {and} Jabin at the torrent of Kishon,
Psa 83:10 Who were destroyed at En-dor, Who became as dung for the ground.
Psa 83:11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb And all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
Psa 83:12 Who said, "Let us possess for ourselves The pastures of God."
Psa 83:13 O my God, make them like the whirling dust, Like chaff before the wind.
Psa 83:14 Like fire that burns the forest And like a flame that sets the mountains on fire,
Psa 83:15 So pursue them with Your tempest And terrify them with Your storm.
Psa 83:16 Fill their faces with dishonor, That they may seek Your name, O LORD.
Psa 83:17 Let them be ashamed and dismayed forever, And let them be humiliated and perish,
Psa 83:18 That they may know that You alone, whose name is the LORD, Are the Most High over all the earth.

Blow your mind: Israel and Psalm 83

We knew as soon as we heard about the miraculous recovery of an ancient Psalm book from an Irish bog that something extraordinary was afoot. The fact that this book—more than 1,000 years old—was stuck open to Psalm 83 is raising quite a few eyebrows. It happened about two weeks ago, about the same time that the current hostilities with Israel and her enemies commenced. If you know the ancient names for these enemies, you’ll be amazed where they turn up: Yes, Psalm 83.

Our friend in Israel, Yaakov Kirschen, adds this perspective:

The world is being drowned in an incredible flood of anti-Semitism. It's as if some demonic force is at work. As if we were in a planet-wide battle between the cosmic forces of good and evil. It's practically supernatural. . . When the war broke out, religious Jews began reciting Psalm 83. A rabbi, being interviewed on an Israeli TV news show called on viewers to read Psalm 83. The Chief Rabbinate's governing council in Jerusalem announced that at 6:00 p.m. (Israel time) every day, Psalm 83 is to be recited simultaneously by Jewish communities all over the world. Turns out that Psalm 83 calls out for Divine help to fight off an attempt to wipe Israel off the map.

Read the rest at the Dry Bones Blog. See his Wednesday post, “Kill the Jews!” WorldNetDaily also has a good article on the subject.

Check out Psalm 83. You may need a good study Bible or other reference to find the modern equivalents of Moab, Edom, Ammon, Ishmael, etc.

ROSCOE’S RECOMMENDATION: Go here for a multi-media presentation on this. Guaranteed to blow your mind.

Castro: Empty harbors

Is this the beginning of the end, as the wishful thinkers in Little Havana want so desperately to believe, for the Castro dictatorship in Cuba? If so, what does the future hold? Democratic reform, possibly? Even freedom?

Let’s not be too hasty, get our hopes up too high, but there’s no question that these are some tantalizing possibilities. Unfortunately, the ailing 79-year-old dictator may still have quite a few laps left to go. The story is that the Castro family is known for its longevity. And even if this is the end of the line for Fidel, his 75-year-old kid brother, Raul, is primed to step right in without missing a beat in police state rule. And he’s as close to a clone as you can get politically.

When we were there five years ago—legally, for journalistic purposes—things were as they had been since 1959, as if frozen in time, without any sense of the possibility of any significant change in anyone’s lifetime. The first thing you noticed was all the 1950s automobiles on the streets. We rode to church in a late-model 1958 Buick with a Russian diesel engine that could be heard a couple blocks away. The second thing you noticed was the grand architecture of the once-magnificent city of Havana, looking all the sadder for its down-at-the-heels state of disrepair. So many elegant pieces of architecture that probably hadn’t had a new coat of paint since the revolution.

Another thing you notice strolling along the Melancon—kind of like Chicago’s Lakeshore Drive—is the grand harbor that should be full of ships, but standing empty. The obvious reason being that boats could afford a means of escape, which is not permitted. Cubans have proven themselves willing to commandeer anything that will float, even risk being eaten by sharks, to make their escape to Miami.

Such a sad, sad place. And yet, we found reason for hope even here: The church of Christ, which always flourishes under persecution, is alive and well. One of the facts that the mainstream mediocracy will not tell you is that many of the Orange-style peaceful revolutions, such as in Ukraine, have largely been the works of pro-democracy, freedom-loving Christians in those countries.

Could such an eventuality be in store for Cuba, long-term? Who knows? But one thing’s for sure: Succession planning is one of the fatal flaws of dictatorships everywhere. Someone will have to pick up the pieces of yet another unsuccessful experiment in Communism. Will the broken-spirited Cuban people be equal to the task?

That is the question.
